I made these for two old church pews that live on our deck. They (the pews) had got into a badly weathered state, and after water pressure cleaning, sanding and oiling, I decided they needed a seat cushion.
Even better than a cushion, they needed a seat quilt.
So I pulled out my neutrals and added blues and greens and a pop of yellow. This ties in with some of our other outdoor furniture which has a decided green bias.
They may not have the straightest edges, but finished is better than perfect, and on the seat it’s just not noticeable. Or so I tell myself. See.
But here’s what they really look like. Oops.
I really like the modern look of these little quilts. Especially with the words. The Ikea stripes are on the binding again, and also on the back. The batting was recycled from an old mattress protector and I had all the fabric on hand, so no cost either. You’ve got to be happy with that.
