How exciting! I am off for a weekend away sewing with some friends. I have collected some projects together and am looking forward to lots of sewing time, interrupted only by eating, drinking and chatting.
Here is what I plan to work on.
First, the long term hand sewing Storm at Sea quilt. Perfect for chatting and sewing. (That’s my mini felt cupcake that is doing dual duty as a pincushion at the moment.)
Next, basting and quilting and finishing the Blue Poles bed runner. Deadline for this is next weekend, so it should be first on the list really.
Then, some creative fun, with input and discussion from helpful friends, designing a couple of cushion covers in greys and yellows. I went shopping and got some ‘hero’ fabrics and will combine them somehow with stash greys and yellows.
There are two Joel Dewberry ‘Aviary’ and another Free Spirit fabric that I cant identify. Oh, yes, and some restocking of needles after the last sewing debacle. Here are the fabrics with the rest of the fabric stash. Yum. Cant wait to see what these turn into.
Next, finishing the quilting on the ill fated squares quilt. The needles will be put to good use here. I’m thinking of just big stipple quilting in the squares, but I really want to do straight lines. No doubt the girls will have an opinion.
Finally, for when I get bored with sewing (!) I have my crochet. Here is a sneak peek of where its up to. I finally finished the boring back, and am having fun adapting a pattern for the front. I ran out of fluro orange, so negotiated grey and black for the rest. A rest for my eyes.
Yay, can’t wait.
